About the author A mother of a dyslexic daughter, Shirley Kurnoff found most LD books to be dry and clinical. After earning her master's degree in education from Stanford University, she put together the resource book she wished she'd had years ago. The Human Side of Dyslexia: 142 interviews with REAL people telling REAL stories, is the first of many interview-style family books that Shirley plans to write.
